Entry Test Guidelines


MCAT

Appearing in Provincial entrance test for admissions to all medical & Dental colleges of Punjab (conducted by UHS )and Khyber Pukhtonkhwa (Conducted by ETEA). Domicile Certificate, copies of certificates, pictures are required for application submission. Minimum 60% marks are required. Dow University of Health Sciences Conducts entrance test for medical & Dental colleges of Karachi, while Liaquat University of Medical & Health sciences  (LUMHS) conducts entrance test for medical & Dental colleges of outer sindh

 ECAT

All Candidates seeking Admission to Engineering colleges are required to pass an Entry Test. In Punjab, UET Lahore conducts this test for admissions to all Government engineering universities.  The contents of ECAT are comprised of four Subjects i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Math and English of F.Sc. Pre-Engineering or equivalent level.

NTS

NTS, being Pakistan's first and only public sector autonomous, testing organization, conducts tests and assessments for admissions to universities, scholarships, recruitment and promotion purposes. NTS test is accepted by its affiliated universities in lieu of their entrance test. Some universities only accept NTS test results and don’t conduct their own entrance test.

NTS Test Types

NTS has devised six different tests for different streams of Intermediate students namely
  • NAT-IE,    Having 12 years/equal Education in Pre-Engineering Group
  • NAT-IM, Having 12 years/equal Education in Pre-Medical Group
  • NAT-IA,   Having 12 years/equal Education in Arts Group
  • NAT-ICS, Having 12 years/equal Education in Computer Science
  • NAT-IGS,                 Having 12 years/equal Education in General Science
  • NAT-ICOM,             Having 12 years/equal Education in Commerce

NAT Test formulation

NTS tests of all these streams consist of total 90 questions, and distribution of these is as under:
  • English                    20 questions
  • Analytical                20 Questions
  • Quantitative            20 Questions
  • Subjects                  30 questions  (relevant major subjects of each group)

SAT-II

SAT-II is required by most of the universities and medical colleges of Pakistan for admissions against Overseas seats. Minimum 550 score in each subject namely Physics, chemistry and Biology is required for admissions to medical & Dental College whereas minimum 550 score required in each subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics for admissions to engineering universities on Overseas and Foreign nationals seats.


IELTS / TOFEL

TOEFL or IELT score of 500 or 5.5. may be required in some institutions (especially for medical & engineering degrees) from the students who have obtained their required qualifications from those institution where the medium of instruction for these qualifications is not English. An alternate to TOEFL and IELT is a certification by NUML Islamabad after a one year English language course
