Marafie Foundation Scholarships 2018 for BS, MPhil & PhD's




Marafie Foundation Pakistan is a non-profit organization, committed to human development and poverty alleviation by implementing viable economic development, educational and capacity building programs in Gilgit Baltistan since 1987.   
Marafie Foundation is providing scholarships every year for talented students who cannot afford the university education and supports them throughout their studies. This support enables them to break the poverty cycle and access better opportunities. 
Through Scholarship scheme, MFP invested about Rs.30 million on Sadat and non-Sadat students. Continuation of this scholarship is related to their success in the annual examinations. Every year about 400 students of Baltistan including Haramosh have been benefiting from this scheme. This scheme has been appreciated by all segments of society and underprivileged students who could not afford the studies at a higher level are very exultant by this scheme. 257 students have completed their education from 1987 to 2007 from MFP Hostel Karachi and serving in different fields of life.

Marafie Foundation is currently providing scholarships in the following five categories.

Eligibility Criteria:
Basic Criteria  
1. Applicant must be a regular student of a public University.
2. Self-finance or private University's students are not eligible.
3. Five Ph.D. special scholarships are reserved for science scholars only.
4. Preference will be given to the most deserving and talented students from Baltistan and Haramosh.
5. Students of Masters level who genuinely deserve and have excellent academic records (at least 70% marks for Arts and 65% for Science) will be considered.
6. Syyed Students from Inter to Master level having at least 60% marks in Arts subjects and 55% in Science subjects will be considered.
7. Each scholarship will be for one year and may be extended further on the basis of academic performance. Those have to submit renewal application form.
8. Monthly family income must be less than Rs. 40,000/-. (Not applicable for PhDs and orphan students)
9. These scholarships on need cum merit basis.

Incomplete forms will not be processed.
Incorrect information or concealment of any information may result in disqualification. 
Applicants must submit an affidavit that he/she does not avail full scholarship or financial assistance for the same course and at the same time from any other institution.
The following documents are required from the applicant:
*Latest Income certificate or pay slips.
*Fee receipt for the latest semester.
*Paste an attested passport size photograph of the applicant.
*Attested copies of Matriculation, Intermediate, Graduation, Masters, and M.Phil. And Ph.D. Level result cards /transcripts. (Excluding Orphans)
*Attested copies of National ID Card of applicant or Form -B of Guardian.
*Latest bonafide certificate from the current department of the university.
*Attested copy of Domicile.

11 Crazy Things You Can Relate To If You Have Been To QAU, Islamabad


Quaid-i-Azam University was established in July 1967 with the name “University of Islamabad,” later at the time of centenary in 1976 the name of the university was changed/renamed as “Quaid-i-Azam University”.

Now University has established research collaboration with a number of foreign universities in Europe, South Asia, and the United States. Higher Education Commission of Pakistan ranked Quaid-i-Azam University first in the general. If you have been to QAU, here are the following points you can relate to;

1. DISCONNECTING PEOPLE

Initially, when you enter university, you get a sinking feeling. You feel so disconnected from the outside world.



2. CULTURAL SHOCKS
Seeing guys wearing PATIALA shalwars is a cultural shock, one really wonders if you really are somewhere in Islamabad.

Union systems have an influence and thaaikaaaaa of course.



10. NO ONE DARE TO DO THAT ACTUALLY
You can never claim you have seen the entire university



11.WALK..WALK..WALK
You have to walk miles to go from one department to another, ahh tiring at times!
