Success should not be limited to money.
How To Choose Successful Career in Pakistan

How To Choose Successful Career in Pakistan

In this article I will tell you the principles/ways that guarantees your success if you follow it. I will also tell you why most people don’t follow that principle and why you should follow that. There is one principle to become successful which is “single-mindedness of purpose”. Now you must be thinking that what does it mean? It means that you should utilize all your efforts and focus on one thing to your fullest extent and that is called as single mindedness of purpose.
Once you put all your efforts towards your aim you get success but a time comes when you feel that your efforts are not going to give any fruitful results and then you think that game is over and left that field or efforts but it is wrong. If you follow single-mindedness of purpose and focus on aim then you can achieve a lot, although hurdles come in life but they are come to check your devotion.
So if single-mindedness of purpose is very important then why most of the people don’t follow it? There are many reasons that people don’t follow it. I will tell you one by one.
  • Most of the people believe that they can’t do other things if they choose one thing to focus on. They perhaps think to themselves that I have so many things to do in life, so choosing one thing means that I can’t do all other things. Actually that is a misconception because it is by focusing on this one thing that would allow you to do all the other things.
  • The second reason why people don’t follow it is that they are unclear about the purpose. They never spent time to clarify that what they really want in life. Without being clear on your purpose you will get distracted very easily. May be your start a thing and go ahead for a while then stop and then jump onto something else. You may have met people like this who started a thing and stopped and then started another thing and then stop again because people who haven’t decided on their purpose just cannot drift along with the life, they just go along where life takes them. So I know that you don’t want to be like those people.
So here are the couple of reasons that why you should follow the principle of single-minded on your purpose.
  • Being a single-minded on your purpose allows you to stay on a certain path, distractions are surely going to come whether you like it or not. There will come a time when life is going to test your commitment. Therefore if you are clear on your purpose and committed to stay on your path then you can achieve our aim.
  • The second thing is that you should follow this principle because it will allow you to concentrate all your efforts because greatness does not come with a diversification of efforts it comes with concentration of efforts. Let’s take an example of best tennis player, if during his practice he would think that maybe I should spend half of my time practicing football instead and not focus on one thing. So do you think that he shouldn’t have gone so far?

Incredible Health Benefits of Donating Blood

Incredible Health Benefits of Donating Blood

1.Reduce the chance of heart diseases

It has been observed that increase in blood iron level increases the chance of heart disease. Iron is involved in the oxidation of cholesterol and this process is believed to be detrimental for the arteries. Increases blood iron level favors this process ofcholesterol oxidation and thus leads to heart disease. Regular blood donation helps especially males in loosing iron on regular basis. It helps in reducing the chance of heart attack to one third.

2. Enhance the production of new Red Blood Cells

As the blood is withdrawn from the donors body there is decrease inblood cells. To replenish it, immediately new cells are produced bymarrow andthis way blood gets refreshed. Therefore donating blood helps in stimulating generationof new blood cells.

3. Helps in fighting hemochromitosis

Hemochromitosis is a genetic disorder; also know as iron overload disorder wherein iron accumulates in the body tissue because or improper iron metabolism. This condition may lead to organ damage.3 Though this problem is uncommon in Indians4, people with little iron overload also can easily donation blood and reduce their iron content.Taking example from other countries, one in every 300-400 people in England suffers from this disorder and American Red Cross blood services accept such donors as safe donor as it’s a genetic disorder,it won’t be harmful to the person receiving blood from such donors.

4. Burns calories

One pint of blood (450 ml) when donated burns 650 calories in donor’s body. 3, 5 Invigorated feeling in elderly people It has been mentioned in various sites though not proved that elderly people in good health have reported feeling invigorated or reenergized by giving blood on a regular basis.

5. Basic blood test is done

Apart from all these benefits a donor gets a mini blood test done before donating blood. This includes Hematocrit i.e. HB level test, Blood pressure is measured, body weight is checked. After the blood is collected it tested for 5 major diseases. Those are Hepatitis B, Hepatitis C, HIV, Syphilis and malaria. Donor is immediately informed if any of these test found to be positive.

10 Job-Interview Mistakes to Avoid

10 Job-Interview Mistakes to Avoid

1. Joking around. Don't tell jokes. Don't consider it a fun opening line or ice-breaker. The odds of you offending someone (or even worse telling a bad joke) are too high. Don't do it. If humor is an important part of who you are, find a way to share an interesting anecdote about a work-related event. Not a joke.

2. Using bad words. No matter which interviewer you get and no matter what you know about them, don't swear. Not even the minor words. Besides the obvious risk of offending you someone, you also can look smug and too comfortable.

3. Telling really long stories. You might be incredibly nervous or excited to share something, but don't get caught in the long story trap. Long stories are boring, often off topic, and slow the interview to a terrible crawl.

4. Wearing uninspected clothes. Old twisted ties, blouses that are falling apart at the sleeves, poor fitting shirts. No matter your clothing fault, it sends the wrong message. And yes, the hiring manager notices.

5. Getting too personal. We all have tough times in life. But tough times are personal and should stay private. Whether answering a question about a gap in your resume or explaining why your last boss didn't like you, do everything you can to keep it objective. No emotion and no personal stories.

6. Being a copy cat. The interview preparation expert who suggested many years ago to match the body language of your interviewer was wrong. If you have ever interviewed someone who sat up when you did, leaned back with you and crossed his or her legs in concert, it is a bit creepy. While there is a way to generally match the overall tone of the serious or social job interview, don't do it literally.

7. Can't stop talking. Some people just love to talk. Are you trying to fill up time to avoid more questions? Are you just a social person? Either way, some interviewers don't know how to stop you. So you have to stop yourself.

8. Avoiding details. Sometimes an interviewer will ask the same question three or four times. They do this because job candidates don't answer them. Whether or not it's on purpose, it is frustrating for the interviewer. Often they keep asking because they believe the person has the answer and the candidate just needs some help. And sometimes they just do not want the candidate to blatantly avoid the question.

9. Unwanted hair. Hollywood actors are famous for wearing a thin mustache or goatee. They get away with it because they are famous people preparing for an important part in a new movie. You are not famous, you are not preparing for a movie role, and the facial hair probably doesn't look good on you.

10. Toughing it out. If offered a drink of water, take it. If offered a chance to use the rest room, take it. These are legitimate offers, not cruel tricks to see if you'll bite. You do not look weak by accepting a glass of water.

**Story of Appreciation**

**Story of Appreciation**

One young academically excellent person went to apply for a managerial position in a big company.
He passed the first interview, the director did the last interview, made the last decision.

The director discovered from the CV that the youth's academic achievements were excellent all the way, from the secondary school until the postgraduate research,
Never had a year when he did not score.

The director asked,
"Did you obtain any scholarships in school?"
The youth answered "none".

The director asked,
" Was it your father who paid for your school fees?"
The youth answered,
"My father passed away when I was one year old, it was my mother who paid for my school fees.

The director asked,
" Where did your mother work?"
The youth answered,
"My mother worked as clothes cleaner.
The director requested the youth to show his hands.
The youth showed a pair of hands that were smooth and perfect.

The director asked,
" Have you ever helped your mother wash the clothes before?"
The youth answered,
"Never, my mother always wanted me to study and read more books.
Furthermore, my mother can wash clothes faster than me.

The director said,
"I have a request. When you go back today, go and clean your mother's hands, and then see me tomorrow morning.*

The youth felt that his chance of landing the job was high. When he went back, he happily requested his mother to let him clean her hands. His mother felt strange, happy but with mixed feelings, she showed her hands to the kid.

The youth cleaned his mother's hands slowly. His tear fell as he did that. It was the first time he noticed that his mother's hands were so wrinkled, and there were so many bruises in her hands. Some bruises were so painful that his mother shivered when they were cleaned with water.

This was the first time the youth realized that it was this pair of hands that washed the clothes everyday to enable him to pay the school fee. The bruises in the mother's hands were the price that the mother had to pay for his graduation, academic excellence and his future.

After finishing the cleaning of his mother's hands, the youth quietly washed all the remaining clothes for his mother.

That night, mother and son talked for a very long time.

Next morning, the youth went to the director's office.

The Director noticed the tears in the youth's eyes, asked:
" Can you tell me what have you done and learned yesterday in your house?"

The youth answered,
" I cleaned my mother's hand, and also finished cleaning all the remaining clothes'

The Director asked,
" please tell me your feelings."

The youth said,
Number 1,
I know now what is appreciation. Without my mother, there would not the successful me today.
Number 2,
By working together and helping my mother, only I now realize how difficult and tough it is to get something done.
Number 3,
I have come to appreciate the importance and value of family relationship.

The director said,
" This is what I am looking for to be my manager. I want to recruit a person who can appreciate the help of others, a person who knows the sufferings of others to get things done, and a person who would not put money as his only goal in life. You are hired.

Later on, this young person worked very hard, and received the respect of his subordinates. Every employee worked diligently and as a team. The company's performance improved tremendously.

A child, who has been protected and habitually given whatever he wanted, would develop "entitlement mentality"and would always put himself first. He would be ignorant of his parent's efforts.
When he starts work, he assumes that every person must listen to him, and when he becomes a manager, he would never know the sufferings of his employees and would always blame others.
For this kind of people, who may be good academically, may be successful for a while, but eventually would not feel sense of achievement.
He will grumble and be full of hatred and fight for more. If we are this kind of protective parents, are we really showing love or are we destroying the kid instead?*

You can let your kid live in a big house, give him a Driver & Car for going around, Eat a Good Meal, learn Piano, Watch a Big Screen TV. But when you are Cutting Grass, please let them experience it. After a Meal, let them Wash their Plates and Bowls together with their Brothers and Sisters. Tell them to Travel in Public Bus, It is not because you do not have Money for Car or to Hire a Maid, but it is because you want to Love them in a right way. You want them to understand, no matter how rich their parents are, one day their hair will Grow Grey, same as the Mother of that young person. The most important thing is your kid learns how to appreciate the effort and experience the difficulty and learns the ability to work with others to get things done..

10 things you need to know about Stephen Hawking

1) Born in Oxford on January 8 1942 - 300 years after the death of astronomer Galileo Galilei - Professor Hawking grew up in St Albans, Hertfordshire. After being diagnosed with a rare form of motor neurone disease - amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) - at the age of 22, Hawking was given just a few years to live.

2) Hawking is as much a celebrity as he is a scientist, having appeared on The Simpsons, Star Trek and having provided narration for a British Telecom commercial that was later sampled on a Pink Floyd album.

3) He had a difficult time at the local public school and was persecuted as a "swot" who was more interested in jazz, classical music and debating than sport and pop. Although not top of the class, he was good at maths and "chaotically enthusiastic in chemistry". Hawking has said of his workload as an undergraduate at Oxford "amounted to an average of just an hour a day". He also said: "I'm not proud of this lack of work, I'm just describing my attitude at the time, which I shared with most of my fellow students. You were supposed to be brilliant without effort, or to accept your limitations and get a fourth class degree."Despite his workload confession, Hawking got a first and went to Cambridge to begin work on his PhD - but he was already beginning to experience the first symptoms of his illness, having fallen over twice for no reason during the last year of his undergraduate degree.

4) Hawking has credited his marriage in 1965 to Jane Wilde, a language student, as a turning point in his life at a time when he was unsure as to what the point of a degree was if he was to die soon. They went on to have three children - Robert, Lucy, and Timothy.

5) At a meeting of the Royal Society meeting, Hawking interrupted a lecture by renowned astrophysicist Sir Fred Hoyle to let him know that he had made a mistake. When asked how he knew there had been an error, Hawking replied: "Because I've worked them out in my head."

6) During the 1970s Hawking produced a stream of first class research, including probably his most important contribution to cosmology: the discovery of Hawking radiation, which allows a black hole to leak energy and gradually fade away to nothing.

7) In the 1980s, Professor Hawking and Professor Jim Hartle proposed a model of the universe which had no boundaries in space or time. The concept was described in A Brief History Of Time, which sold 25 million copies worldwide.

8) In February 1990 he left his wife of twenty five years to set up home with one of his nurses, Elaine Mason. The couple married in September 1995 but divorced in 2006.

9) Among some of his more unconventional theories, Professor Hawking has predicted the end of humanity - due to global warming, a new killer virus, or the impact of a large comet.

10) In 2009 he was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the highest civilian award in the United States. Hawking was the Lucasian Professor of Mathematics at the University of Cambridge for 30 years, taking up the post in 1979 and retiring on 1 October 2009. He is also a Fellow of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge having held many other academic positions. In recent years, Professor Hawking has examined the relationship between science and religion, writing a 2010 book Grand Design, which argues that evoking God is not necessary to explain the origins of the universe.

BRAIN DAMAGING HABITS

1. No Breakfast

People who do not take breakfast are going to have a lower blood sugar level.

This leads to an insufficient

Equivalence Certificate

Equivalence Certificate

Every student who has completed his education from a foreign institution whether, he/she is a Pakistani or a foreigner, has completed his education physically within Pakistan or abroad, he has to get equivalence certificate before getting admitted to an educational institution of Pakistan. Equivalence certificate is issued on the basis of some formulas, other than some general principles there might be some different policies that may vary from case to case.

What certificates are considered for equivalence?

All the certificates and the grades awarded by the accredited foreign Examination Board/ Authority/ Syndicate and institutions recognized by the Education Authority of the country of origin will be considered for equivalence.

Why equivalence is made?

  1. The equivalence of qualification is to identify the relevant stage in Pakistani System on the bases of:
  • Number of schooling years
  • Number of subjects in foreign and local system.
  1. The conversion of marks/grades from accredited/recognized Examination Boards will be equated with Pakistani equivalent marks as per approved formula.
  2. The actual marks from a recognized foreign Examination Board Authority/Syndicate will not be considered as such.

Deduction of marks at the time of equivalence

  1. Yes there is a deduction of marks at the time of equivalence. First marks/grades will be converted into Pakistani equivalent marks then deduction will be made as per formula.
  2. The deduction in marks is made to maintain uniformity and range of scores with Pakistani system.

Conversion of marks

  1. The equivalence of O-level and A-level qualifications is determined through criteria as marks for each subject are taken to be 100.
  2. Marks should with minimum ‘E’ Grade

CAREER PLANNING PROGRAMME

Career Aspiration – A Diagnostic Exercise

Students expressed their desired career lines based on their existing knowledge, in a survey conducted by Eduvision. This read gave us a platform to discuss the SWOT of each career line. More than half of the total students were utterly confused about their careers. Remaining students were also very traditionally aligned with career aspirations.

Why Career Planning?

Spiral growth in multifaceted industry requires best potentials in their employed resources and deployed infrastructure. So is the aspiration of institution and parents for the young breed, to get settled professionally and to grow vertically in their ‘career of choice’.

What Does Career of Choice Mean ?

Careers are chosen with following as a multitude of causal factors:
  • Demand in the industry
  • Academic Background
  • Parental Pressure and/or Legacy
  • Personal Inclination
  • Intrinsic Motivation
  • Go-With-the-Wind Approach
  • And many more

What is the Real Challenge ?

The real challenge is to negate few fundamental myths i.e.
  • Career Choice is (or to be) after completion of Formal Education  (Graduation/Post-graduation).
  • Selection of or admission in Higher Education Institution itself defines the career path
  • At  early schooling or college level, it is premature to assess relevant potentials for ‘right career’ in future
  • Only hard work is the key to success (whereby planning is an essential part to make this hard work more result oriented)
  • Too much preoccupation with planning exercise is counterproductive at times (as a matter of fact, failing to plan is recipe of planning to fail).

Eduvision Career Planning Programme

Eduvision introduces a powerful programme for developing and expanding student’s enthusiasm for who they really are and what they are truly capable of being. Eduvision offers three types of services in Career Planning Program
  • Career Planning Workshop
  • Career Planning Seminar
  • Assessment & Counseling
